We don’t know when Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. will finally touch gloves, but we know where it will happen.
The fighters agreed during talks Thursday to hold the highly anticipated fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, according to the Los Angeles Times.
They have also agreed on a drug-testing plan. Long a hang-up in the boxers’ negotiations, the test accord figures to be a key decision.
The fighters and their camps are reportedly “closing in” on a purse split, an anonymous official involved in the talks told the Times. Mayweather wants a 60-40 split, which Pacquiao is willing to meet, according to the Times.
“We’re making progress,” the official said. The official also said a fight date could be set in the next seven to 10 days with May or June being the targeted months.
